I have over 30 years experience helping people and have been a consultant in charge of a major hospital Psychology Clinic. I have also worked in a specialist Anxiety Disorder Clinic, and Family Therapy Clinic. I have been in private practice for over 20 years.

Attending therapy can sometimes feel daunting or scary. I aim to create a safe, private, confidential and non-judgmental space for you to think about your difficulties and to help you make changes.

In our initial appointment we will begin to assess and discuss the source of any issues you are experiencing and your current methods of coping. Working together we gather the various pieces of the jigsaw puzzle to create a better understanding of what has happened and consider the best way to move forward. When you know exactly ‘what’ to do, and ‘how’ to do it, you will be surprised by how quickly positive change happens.

Good mental health isn’t just the absence of mental health problems or stress. Being mentally and emotionally healthy is much more than being free of depression, anxiety, or other disorders. Rather than the absence of mental illness, mental health refers to the ‘presence’ of positive characteristics that make your life stronger and easier, so that you can achieve what you want from life, and in most cases that is to be happy and successful at what you value.

How Long Are The Sessions?

Each individual consultation lasts for 50 minutes. Longer or shorter sessions can be arranged if required. The overall length of therapy depends on a number of factors and is something we will review at regular intervals to ensure that real progress is achieved.

Where Are Sessions Held?

You can attend in person at our Carlton North rooms or have consultations over the phone, or using Zoom (video). The phone and Zoom options are COVID-19 safe and enables more flexibility with appointments by eliminating travel time and cost. Once your Zoom appointment is confirmed details on how to remotely access the session will be emailed to you.
